The YMCA of the Blue Water Area came out on top Thursday night during the St. Clair County Community Foundation’s 100 men fundraiser. The annual event, which took place at the St. Clair Riverview Plaza this year, brings together a hundred men from the community who donate $100 each and then vote for a non-profit of their choice. The winner receives a $10,000 grant from the St. Clair County Community Foundation’s Community Capital Club. Geof Kusch, Chairman of the local YMCA, speaking to WPHM at yesterday’s event, says the Y helps serve citizens of all ages in every corner of the county. Runners up from last night’s event were “Taking a Shot” at Breast Cancer, Operation Transformation, the NAACP youth fund, and the Council on Aging serving St. Clair County. Another similar “100 Women” event, also put on by the St. Clair County Community Foundation, takes place earlier in the year.
