This weekend will be full of fun for the whole family as Chilly Fest returns to downtown Port Huron. The event begins today, and you can view ice sculptures plus attend the Silver Stick Hockey Tournament at McMorran. On Saturday, the fun for the kids will begin with the Kids Zone at McMorran Lounge. From 10-2pm kids can play Laser Tag, go Face Painting, and even can make their own Polar Bear Scarf for just $1. There will be fun for the adults as well. Horse and Carriage rides will be offered from 12-4pm, and the Entertainment tent will have Beverages, food and live entertainment from 5-11pm, including local favorite Gasoline Gypsies. The Chili Cook Off tasting and voting runs from 11-2pm, with chili lunch available. The famous Bed Races, a local favorite put on by the Blue Water Young Professionals, starts at 3pm on Grand River Ave. And you can experience the magic of the 50's and 60's with the band Earth Angels playing from 4:30-5:30pm in the auditorium. Tori George from Port Huron Parks and Recreation says another winter event is also coming up soon called Snowman Saturday. The Snowman Saturday begins the following weekend with the winter classic, and as long as there's snow at Memorial Stadium you and a group of people can build a snowman. You then will be entered to win a prize for best snowman. George says the weather is looking good for the event. For more information go to: chillyfest.org, or call: 810-937-5049.
