College President heads for Pennsylvania

Dr. Kevin A. Pollock has announced he is resigning as president of St. Clair County Community College….that as he moves on to a similar position in Pennsylvania. The official date of resignation is March 31st. Local school officials say the SC4 Board of Trustees will be working to determine the next steps to fill the vacancy. Pollock has been SC4 president since April 2009 and was instrumental in the creation of the Blue Water Middle College Academy among other items. SC4 was able to institute many positive changes thanks to grant funds and record fundraising from the SC4 Foundation. A capital campaign raised millions in new scholarship dollars and allowed the completion of major capital projects such as the SC4 Greenway and the creation of the Nasr Natural Science Museum. In Pwennsylvaia the Montgomery County Community College’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously Tuesday to appoint Pollock as their fifth president after an eight-month search by the Presidential Search Committee. He begins his duties at the 12-thousand student population college April 1st.
