The St. Clair County Animal Control and Adoption Center has recently added a new laborartory/surgical center, as well as a new young pet nursery. These improvements were made possible by a $45,000 donation from the trust of Rose Couzens, a resident of Emmett. A dedication ceremony was held in her honor at the Animal Control Center on Friday morning. The new pet nursery will allow young kittens and puppies to be seperated from other animals. This helps them to remain healthier as they move to their new adopted homes. Sheriff Tim Donnellon says, We are very excited about the opportunity to take even better care of the puppies and kittens who enter the adoption center. Rose Couzens passed away on December 31, 2011.
