Back to school stress

With summer break over and children back in school, the Port Huron School District has some safety initiatives they are trying to wrap up by winter. The projects, at several schools, include putting in secure entrances and improving school parking lots. Jamie Cain, School Superintendent, tells parents and students that this time of year can be stressful but they should just "relax" and that things may not be perfect on day one, but school officials are there to help. It can be hard for parents to keep track of all the notifications from their child's school, that's why the school district has launched a new app recently that helps parents stay connected and receive notifications from specific schools. Parents can also use the "Skyward" software to view their child's assignments and make sure they are keeping up with their homework.
