An overcrowded meeting Tuesday night in Fort Gratiot Township as Planning Commission members were to hear public comments about a proposed soar power project. Portside Solar LLC is seeking a special land use permit to allow for solar panels to be placed on approximately 900 acers of Fort Gratiot Township farmland. Due to an overwhelming amount of people wishing to comment on the project, the meeting was moved to the adjoining Fort Gratiot fire station but was adjourned early without resolution. The planning commission is expected to reconvene at a later date.
