New promotions, and a new position created at Port Huron City Hall. City Manager James Freed announced Wednesday that Parks and Recreation Director Nancy Winzer will be named to the position of Deputy City Manager. She has worked for the city for 30 plus years and will also continue to lead the Parks and Recreation Department.
Freed also has created a new position of Health and Safety Director. John Harnish will serve in that position, which is responsible for training of city employees and making sure the city follows state and federal safety standards. Harnish served in a similar capacity at both Dunn and Domtar Paper. Harnish was not present at Wednesday’s press conference.
