We’re now over two months deep in to the coronavirus pandemic locally and there seems to be light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. The number of new cases and fatalities across the Blue Water Area were unchanged Monday. No new cases or deaths were reported in St. Clair, Lapeer, or Sanilac Counties. The St. Clair County Health Department says one additional county resident died over the weekend, bringing the total to 32 fatalities in St. Clair County. Lapeer and Sanilac Counties were unchanged at 30 and 5 fatalities, respectively. The statewide COVID-19 count increased by about 700 to nearly 52,000 Monday. That as Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced a lifting of restrictions on what businesses can operate in the northern portions of the state.
