Michigan Gas prices in increased only a penny on average over the past week.  AAA of Michigan says the current statewide average is $1.85 cents a gallon, up 1-cent compared to a week ago. The average price is 37-cents more than this time last month but still $1.05 less than this time last year. The cheapest fuel in the state can be found in the Upper Peninsula, while the most expensive gas is in Southwest Michigan. St. Clair, Lapeer, and Macomb counties are all asking about $1.85 a gallon, with gas slightly higher in Sanilac County, where gas is on average $1.89. “Pump prices are fluctuating as demand increases and gasoline stocks decrease,” said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson for AAA. “The boost in demand continues to push pump prices up around the country, as more states re-open businesses.”
