A seven year old Lapeer County Boy is dead after drowning in a pond over the weekend. The Lapeer County Sheriff’s office says the incident occurred during a family reunion Saturday in Elba Township when a boy who was playing in a 10-to-15 foot deep pond. Another child who was with the boy reported the drowning to adults who called 911. The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office dive team responded to the incident and located the child’s body after a short search. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The drowning remains under investigation by the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office.
