Alcohol suspected in Friday night crash

Two are recovering from a Friday evening crash in Sanilac County’s Custer Township in which alcohol is believed to be involved. Just after 9pm Friday, officers were called to an single vehicle accident on Booth Road in which a car lost control and overturned on it’s roof. The driver of the car, a 22 year old man from Carsonville as well as a 26 year old female passenger from Cass City, were freed from the vehicle and taken to an area hospital. Deputies say both were believed to be intoxicated at the time of the accident and investigations are ongoing. The names of the individuals are being withheld and charges are being forwarded to the Sanilac County Prosecutor’s office.
