Gas prices continue upward trend

Michigan gas prices have jumped 8 cents over the past week according to the AAA of Michigan. The auto club says the current statewide average daily gas price is $2.37  a gallon, which is 8 cents more than a week ago and 32 cents more than the same time last week. The most expensive gas in the state can be found in Marquette, while the cheapest gas is in Traverse City. Locally, pumps in Macomb and Lapeer Counties are asking about $2.35 on average for a gallon of gas. In Sanilac County, gas is slightly lower at an average of $2.31 per gallon and St. Clair County pumps are asking on average, $2.36 a gallon for regular unleaded.
