If you’re looking for a way to kick-start the holiday season, this weekend’s Festival of Trees at the Blue Water Convention Center might do the trick. Specially decorated Christmas trees are featured, along with Christmas music, a visit from Santa Claus and special activities for kids and families. Money raised at the event will benefit the McLaren Port Huron Foundation, whose executive director Lynn Griffor says many of the designers work throughout the year on their Christmas trees. The festival kicks off on Friday evening with a Gala Preview Party, with the festival open to the public Saturday on Sunday. Festival of Trees runs both days from 10am to 5pm and admission is $5. Additionally, a family pajama party will be  held Saturday night and there will be a breakfast with Santa Sunday morning. Reservations are required and can be made at https://www.mclaren.org/porthuron. Money raised during the 30th annual Festival of Trees will go towards cardiac care at McLaren Port Huron.
