Mariners Back In Playoffs

Marine City beat Marysville 37-15 on Friday night to clinch a spot in the high school football playoffs for the 20th time in 21 years.  Aren Sopfe rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns for the Mariners, while Josh Headlee scored on a 32 yard fumble return.  Hunter Delore rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown in the first quarter for Marysville, but left the game early in the second quarter with an injury.  In other action, Port Huron Northern won their first league championship since 2002 after beating Roseville 26-14 at Memorial Stadium.
