Michigan motorists will notice more police on the roads for the next few weeks as the state’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign begins. The drunk driving crackdown is being conducted till April 4th, which coincides with St. Patrick’s Day as well as NCAA basketball tournaments. Kendall Wingrove with the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning says they are trying out a new advertising campaign this year and are utilizing several public service announcements. Family members who have lost loved ones to traffic crashes caused by impaired drivers joined the OHSP at news conferences across the state to share their stories and help launch the enforcement activities.
