Couple to spend life in jail for child death/torture

Life in prison without parole the sentence handed down Thursday by St. Clair County Circuit Court Judge Dan Kelly for the much publicized death of 5-year-old Mackenzie Maison of Port Huron. She had been malnourished for months according to testimony in the case with her father and step-mother found guilty of homicide, torture, and child abuse crimes by the jury. Andrew and Hilery Maison officially began their life sentence yesterday. Mackenzie was found by authorities in May of last year at the couple’s Oak Street residence.
