The jury has found Hilery and Andrew Maison guilty on all charges. The Maisons have been convicted of felony murder and abuse of 5 year-old Mackenzie and first degree child abuse of Mackenzie and her sister Makayla. Over the week long trial, the defense tried to say that the girls were picky eaters, but Prosecuting Attorney Mona Armstrong says those potential excuses to explain away the girls condition just couldn’t hold true as Makayla is now thriving. The trial revealed that on the night Mackenzie died, her sister Makayla was in a condition that was life threatening. Testimony was heard, that Makayla was severely dehydrated, malnurished and suffering from the early stages of organ failure. During the week long trial over twenty witnesses were called for the prosecution, with only three for the defense. Judge Daniel Kelly set the sentencing date for Thursday, March 10th.
