The Old Newsboys are back

Children in our area are in need of basic necessities such as; coats, boots, shoes, socks, and underwear. And without the Old Newsboys, many children would otherwise go without. That's why for more than 87 years, the Old Newsboys head out every December, selling special editions of the Times Herald. They will be out at city intersections and at local businesses Today and Saturday. Ed Weichsler, who has been with the Old Newsboys for 30 years, says they often hear from those they have helped in the past say; if it wasn't for you, as a child I wouldn't have had a Christmas. Weichsler notes that nobody is paid and there are no perks except for the face to face discussions they have with those they have helped. Their campaign goal this year is $70,000. You can donate to the Old Newsboys anytime of the year at the Times Herald office, located at 911 Military Street, in Downtown Port Huron, or by calling: 810-989-6237.
