Community Foundation gets a donation

On Wednesday, it was announced that the Community Foundation of St. Clair County was granted a $100,000 donation from the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation. Mr. Wilson, a Detroit native, passed away on March 25, 2014. Twenty southeastern Michigan organizations will benefit from a combined $17.4 million from the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation's transitional legacy grant program. Mr. Wilson's wife, Mary M. Wilson, says this is just the beginning of what they hope will be a long lasting, positive impact in his name on southeastern Michigan. The Foundation's $1.2 billion will be spent over the course of 20 years, in hopes that it impacts will be immediate, substantial, measurable, and overseen by those that knew him best. The grants will go towards funding projects and initiatives that reflect the personal passions of Mr. Wilson.
