It was the last city council meeting for City Planner Kim Harmer Monday night. Several acknowledgments from city council members and ovations from the crowd show just how much Kim Harmer has meant to this city. New technology was also on the agenda Monday night, with council members approving a proposal from CLEMIS for $8,000 to upgrade on the livescan fingerprint booking system. The council also approved the purchase of 8 in-car laptop computers for the Police Department as well, with half of the $22,000 cost being covered from Drug and OWI forfeitures. The old laptops were purchased in 2007. Council members also held some public meetings concerning the planned Cityflats Hotel property. The property was approved for tax incentives under the Obsolete Property Rehabilitation Act.
