Fatal boating accident over the weekend

On Friday at 8:05 pm, Macomb County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call. The caller indicated a boating accident had taken place involving two boats on Lake St. Clair and that several people were in the water and one female was unaccounted for. Macomb County Sheriff's Marine Division Deputies and dive team, the Harrison Township Fire Department and the United States coast guard were dispatch and searched for the missing female boater. At approximately 1:00am the Dive Team discovered the female boater deceased. The victim was identified as 43 year old Tamara Joe Urick of Chesterfield. Witness at the scene of the accident reported that a 27 foot sea ray was drifting in Anchor Bay about one mile north of MacRay Harbor when the second boat crashed into the drifting vessel. The operator of the second boat was taken to McLaren Hospital and is in serious condition. All others involved in the accident declined medical treatment. The accident is still under investigation.
