
The Port Huron Police Department and the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department are hosting the annual 5K Special Olympics Torch Run this Saturday. The run begins in front of the Municipal Office Center at 9 am sharp, and is open to the public and participants of all ages. Cost is $25 and includes a T-shirt, or for $50 you can register your family and receive 2 T-shirts. Registration opens at 8am on Saturday, or you can preregister for the event by contacting Jenny Leach at 810-984-9715. Throughout the state law enforcement agencies, and their communities, will be participating in 'Torch Run' activities during the statewide run week. The Special Olympics provide year-round sports training and athletic competition, in a variety of Olympic-type sports, for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities. All proceeds from the event will go to support the Special Olympics Michigan Chapter.
