A Port Huron Area School District Board of Education trustee has resigned. Joe Bixler on Monday announced that he will be seeking to serve the community in other capacities and has stepped down from the board. Port Huron Schools Superintendent Theo Kerhoulas says he is “very grateful” for Bixler’s service and Board President Laurie Oldford adds Bixler has, “Never been afraid of asking questions and getting sound answers.”
Those interested in fulfilling the remainder of Bixler’s term through the end of 2024 are asked to send a cover letter and resume to superintendent@phasd.us and also view the duties and expectations of position on the district’s web site. The deadline to apply is 4pm on October 6th. Bixler’s term on the board began in 2019 and expires at the end of 2024.
