Eight area beaches recently closed due to elevated levels of E. coli bacteria are now back open. Lakeside, Lighthouse, Keewadhin, and Fort Gratiot County Park in St. Clair County, along with Sanilac County’s Lexington Beach and Lexington County Park were issued swimming advisories. A swimming advisory was also issued for Chrysler Beach in Marysville and Holland Beach in Port Huron at the end of last week. As of Thursday, water test results taken from all beaches show E. coli levels have returned to acceptable standards as advised by the state, and all beaches are again open to the public.
