Flags will be lowered to half staff today in remembrance of former state lawmaker Paul Muxlow. The three-term Republican State Representative from Brown City passed away Friday, February 23. He represented all of Sanilac County as well as the City of Port Huron and Burtchville and Fort Gratiot Townships in the legislature from 2011 to 2017. Muxlow, among other things, championed animal rights and sponsored “Logan’s Law”, which established a statewide animal abuse registry and was named after a Port Huron dog that was abused and later died. Muxlow also served locally as a member of the Brown City Board of Education and was a member of the Air National Guard.
