The Red Hawks, the Red Knights, the Red Storm, and the Panthers… all finalists for the new mascot for Port Huron High School. After deciding late last year to retire the “Big Reds”, the Port Huron Area School District has narrowed down the list of finalists to be the school’s new nickname starting next academic year. Students at Port Huron High School will be voting on a choice during school while the community is encouraged to also vote on the mascot over the course of the next week. The public can come to the Port Huron Early Childhood Center from 8am to 3pm through Tuesday to cast their vote. There will also be community voting Friday afternoon from 4 to 8pm at Port Huron High School. Those casting their ballot will need a valid in-district form of identification. The highest vote getter will be recommended to the Port Huron Area School District Board of Education for their approval.
