A Canadian auto supplier is making a big investment in St. Clair County. Magna International broke ground on a new facility Tuesday in St. Clair which will be used to produce battery components for electric vehicles. The 345,000 square foot facility will bring more than 300 jobs to the area once construction on the $70 million project is complete. The factory will be known as Magna Electric Vehicle Structures and will manufacture battery enclosures including for those for the GMC Hummer EV. Those interested in jobs at the new facility can visit www.magna.com/company/careers. The St. Clair plant marks Magna’s 25th in Michigan.
