Police respond to 24th Street bomb threat

The McDonald’s Restaurant on 24th Street in Port Huron Township has reopened following a bomb scare. An anonymous threat against the restaurant was phoned in to St. Clair County Central Dispatch shortly after 5pm Saturday. The McDonald’s was immediately evacuated and searched. The St. Clair County Sheriff’s office says nothing suspicious was located in the building. Deputies were assisted by the Port Huron Police Department’s K9 unit. The restaurant has since reopened. Those with information about the threat are asked to call the Sheriff’s office at 985-8115.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office has responded to the McDonald’s Restaurant on 24th Street on tips of an anonymous bomb threat. Sheriff Mat King tells WPHM the bomb threat was reported shortly after 5pm Saturday. The building has since been evacuated and King says the area is secured. The Port Huron Police Department’s explosive-detecting K9 unit has reported to the scene of the restaurant and investigations are underway.
