Tuition rates at St. Clair County Community College will be going up this fall. The Sc4 Board of Trustees approved the increases Thursday during their regular board meeting. Full-time students residing in the school district will see a tuition increase of $3 dollars per credit hour or 3%. Board Chair Dr. Nicholas DeGrazia says it’s the college’s policy to avoid having a large increase. The average increase in tuition at Community College’s in Michigan last year was 4.2%. In other business the board discussed preparations to renovate the McMorran Pavilion. Last night, Architectural Services from TMP was approved by the board, as was the hiring of a Construction Manager for the project. Board member Denise Brooks, Director of the YMCA mentioned that TMP was also the Architect for the Y.M.C.A. Meanwhile the search for a new college president continues with Dr. Deborah Synder officially welcomed by the board as the interim holder of that position.
