There’s a new American flag flying along 24th Avenue in Fort Gratiot Township, and it’s a big one! A 130 foot flag pole was erected last month in the parking lot of the recently re-opened Gander Outdoors, and store manager Jeremiah Webster says they chose last Friday, Pearl Harbor Day, to raise the flag for the first time. Giant American flags fly at more than 100 Camping World R.V. Super centers, which is the parent company of Gander Outdoors. The 3200 square foot flag is to honor all first responders, veterans, and active military members. It will be flown at half staff for the remainder of December in honor of former president George H. W. Bush.
