Gas prices continue downward trend

Gas prices in the State of Michigan have fallen to a new 2018 low. According to AAA of Michigan, the current statewide average for regular unleaded gasoline is hovering around $2.34 a gallon. That’s 3-cents less than a week ago, 35-cents less than last month, and 17-cents less than this time last year. Across the local area, pumps in Sanilac, Lapeer, and Macomb Counties are asking $2.29 on average for a gallon of gas. In St. Clair County, pumps are slightly higher, with an average price of $2.33 a gallon. Statewide, the lowest prices in Michigan can be found in the Traverse City area and the highest gas prices are in Marquette.
