Car/deer crash sends pair to hospital

A car crash involving a deer in Burtchville Township has sent two people to the hospital. According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, deputies responded to a call at about 9:45 p.m on Sunday night. Joan Roelandt from Lexington was driving northbound on M25 just south of Harris Road when his vehicle struck a deer, which crashed through the windshield of the car on the passenger side, striking Danielle Roelandt, also from Lexington. Joan suffered minor injuries, while the passenger’s injuries were more severe. Both were transported to McLaren Port Huron Hospital by TriHospital EMS. The Burtchville Township Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene of the crash.
