A number of road construction projects are expected to get underway in Fort Gratiot as the township prepares for the upcoming construction season.
One of the largest projects is a planned reconstruction of Krafft Road between State and Parker roads. The work will also include the addition of a mini-roundabout at the intersection of Krafft and State.
Township officials say the project will require a full closure at the intersection for approximately 30 days, making it impassable to all traffic, including emergency vehicles. Officials say planning is already underway to ensure emergency services can continue to respond to areas impacted by the closure.
Additional projects planned in Fort Gratiot this summer include repaving work in the Old Farms neighborhood and road repairs on Shorewood Blvd.
