Tuesday’s general election will decide the makeup of several local educational boards.
On the St. Clair County Community College Board of Trustees, three are running for two 6-year terms. Incumbent Marcia Robbins is seeking re-election and Mukund Wankhede is seeking to retain his seat that he was appointed to fill last year. They will be fending off a challenge by Penelope Peck.
There is also lone partial term on the SC4 Board expiring in two years, seeking to be filled by newcomers Robert Mitchell and Patrick Yanik.
In the Port Huron Area School District, three people are running for two spots on the board of education. Laurie Oldford is seeking re-election to another 6-year term and Matt Ruiz is seeking to keep his seat that he was appointed to last year. They are facing a challenge from Gary Lokers Junior.
