Drivers in Port Huron should prepare to encounter orange barrels on 10th Street starting next week.

The City of Port Huron will begin a road reconstruction and utility replacement project between Lapeer Avenue and the Black River the week of June 1st.

The work, which stretches less than a third of a mile, includes total asphalt paving, water main and sewer replacements, and new sidewalks. Construction will be completed in three stages to maintain traffic flow, alternating lane closures between northbound and southbound traffic before wrapping up with work at the Lapeer Avenue intersection.

The entire project is scheduled to be fully open to traffic by August 31st.
