Speeding is believed to be a factor in a weekend three-vehicle crash in Lapeer County has claimed the life one. Imlay City Police responded to the crash at M-53 near Borland Road around 8:15pm Sunday evening. A 17-year old from Macomb County’s Washington Township is believed to have struck two other vehicles with his pickup truck, resulting in critical injuries to a pregnant woman, and the death of one of the other drivers. Seven total people including the suspect were taken to a Lapeer area hospital for treatment of injuries. Two of the victims are from Imlay City, the rest were from Livonia. Authorities say anyone who witnessed the crash should contact Imlay City Police at 810-724-2345. Investigators are awaiting a report to determine if drunk or drugged driving also played a factor in the crash.
