Five injured in two car weekend rollover crash

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is sharing details about a weekend crash near Capac that injured five including two drivers who were were believed to be drinking underage. It happened during the early morning hours Saturday when two pickup trucks driven by an 18 and 19 year old attempted to pass each other on Capac Road in Berlin Township. The trucks collided sending both off the roadway and rolling over multiple times. A total of six people were in the two cars, three were ejected from the vehicles, and a total of five were hospitalized for injuries sustained in the crash. One victim remains in serious condition at a Royal Oak hospital and is on a ventilator. It is believed the occupants of both vehicles were drinking at an area bar with fake ID’s. The drivers of the vehicles will are expected to face operating while intoxicated charges. Information about the unidentified bar in which they were drinking has been turned over to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission.
