St. Clair County has a new head of the Department of Parks and Recreation. Nancy Winzer will be stepping back from her director duties due to health reasons, with Dennis Delor being named the new director of county parks. Winzer had been shared with the City of Port Huron following the retirement of former county parks director Mark Brochu in early 2021, with the county entering into a shared services agreement for Winzer’s services.

Delor is a 17 year veteran of the county parks department and most recently served as deputy director of operations. Over his tenure with the county, Delor says he has seen county parks grow from two sites to eight, and the number of acers in the county parks system nearly triple. Delor’s appointment is effective immediately. According to Port Huron City Manager James Freed, Nancy Winzer will retain her duties with the City.
