Man arrested for attempted murder

A Port Huron man wanted for attempted murder is in custody. 53 year old Booker T. Brown was arrested Thursday evening after allegedly beating and holding a 49 year old Port Huron woman against her will. According to Port Huron Police, assault occurred around 2am Thursday in the 1400 block of 13th Street. Police say the victim was assaulted with a hammer and knife but was able to escape. She was found in the 1500 block of 11th Street and was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Later Thursday morning, the Port Huron Police Department searched the suspect’s house on Beard Street in an attempt to locate him and recover evidence. Brown was not found and the Port Huron Police Department initiated a manhunt. He was eventually discovered around 5:30pm last night at a residence in the 800 block of Minnie Street and is lodged in the St. Clair County Jail. He is facing charges for attempted murder and unlawful imprisonment.

Port Huron Police are looking for a suspect wanted for attempted murder and unlawful imprisonment. According to authorities, 53  year old Booker T. Brown is accused of physically assaulting a 49 year old woman at a residence in the 1400 block of 13th Street early Thursday morning. Police say she had been physically beaten, assaulted with a hammer and knife,  and was held against her will but was able to escape. He is described as a 53 year old black male, approximately 5-feet 11-inches tall, and 175 pounds.
