State updates COVID-19 tally, school outbreak list

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is reporting more than 7800 new COVID-19 cases over the past three days. That averages to just over 2600 cases per day. There have also been 27 more deaths since Saturday, plus 29 more found during a vital records check. More than 2200 people with the virus are currently hospitalized in Michigan. Locally, new school outbreaks according to the MDHHS include the Sanilac ISD and Maple Valley Elementary School in Sandusky, Marine City High School, and the Algonac Junior – Senior High School.
