The State of Michigan has extended restrictions on indoor social gatherings now until December 20th. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer was joined by Health and Human Services Director Robert Gordon in announcing the orders Monday. Bars and restaurants must remain closed for at least another 12 days and individuals are asked to limit interactions with individuals outside of their households. Employees who work in jobs that cannot be performed from home can continue to go to work, so long as distancing and mask wearing is enforced. Gordon stated that the health department will reaccess the orders at the end of the 12 day period, with high schools likely to be the first to reopen. Entertainment venues where people can maintain distance and maintain masked will be next.
