The St. Clair County Parks and Recreation Department has secured funding to acquire a 10 acre parcel of land near Algonac for a new county park. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources Wednesday approved a grant to purchase the land located along the North Channel of the St. Clair River. The land was purchased earlier this year by the Six Rivers Land Conservancy who is acting as an intermediary between the property owner and the county. Once the County receives their funds from the Natural Resources Trust Fund next year, the land will purchased outright by St. Clair County.
