Cross-border travel might not resume until deep into 2021

Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley is speculating on when travel might resume between the US and Canada. Bradley, speaking to WPHM’s Paul Miller yesterday morning, expects the border to continue to be closed to non-essential travel through at least the first half of 2021. “If we’re really optimistic, (we are) talking into the first three months of next year,” said Bradley. “Being realistic, I think we’re probably talking until July.” He says it will take an effective vaccine with widespread use until international travel can get back to normal. In the meantime, the Sarnia-Lambton area continues to see under ten new cases of the virus reported every day compared to the 100 average new cases per day reported over the past few weeks in St. Clair County.
