COVID-19 deaths slow statewide, locally over the weekend

Eleven Michigan residents lost their lives to the coronavirus pandemic Sunday, numbers the state hasn’t seen since the beginning days of the pandemic. The latest numbers for the state of Michigan are still showing progress despite a growth in cases this weekend. The cumulative numbers over the weekend reveal that 30 people died since Friday. Locally, St. Clair County cases increased by at least 8 as well as one new death over the weekend. Data was not available from the St. Clair County Health Department Sunday. One new case no new deaths were announced in both Sanilac and Lapeer counties over the past weekend. Michigan is closing in on 4900 total coronavirus casualties, while more than 51,000 residents are infected by the disease.
