New COVID-19 cases, deaths increase by single digits locally

Two new St. Clair County residents tested positive for COVID-19 Monday. That brings the county-wide total now to 413 individuals. No new deaths were reported in St. Clair County and there are now 59 current active cases according to the health department.

One new case was found in Sanilac County Monday, with state officials now reporting 38 confirmed positive individuals. No new deaths were reported in Sanilac County either. One new case and one fatality was recorded in Lapeer County, bringing the total there to 177 positive cases and 30 deaths. Statewide there are now 47,500 cases and about 4500 deaths of Michiganders.

About a dozen new coronavirus cases were confirmed across the local area over the past weekend. Two deaths were reported in St. Clair County over the weekend, with four new cases announced Saturday and five new cases Sunday.  No new cases or deaths were announced in Sanilac County over the weekend and Lapeer County gained just two new cases over the weekend.
