Gas prices up slightly compared to last week, month

Michigan gas prices are up about 6 cents compared to a week ago, that according to the latest survey by Triple-A of Michigan. The statewide average daily gas price is now $2.47 a gallon, about four cents more than this time last month and up about three cents from this time last year. The cheapest fuel in the state can once again be found in the Traverse City Area where pumps are sking about $2.34 a gallon, and the most expensive gas is in the Marquette area where the average is $2.56. Pumps in both Sanilac and Lapeer Counties are currently asking about $2.45 for a gallon for regular unleaded. The average price of gas in Macomb and St. Clair Counties is a penny cheaper on average, at about $2.44 a gallon.
