The St. Clair County Board of Commissioners meets this evening. Commissioners are expected to approve multiple human services contracts tonight at the recommendation of the County’s human services committee. Also on tonight’s agenda is a contract with Malcolm Marine for up to $30,000 dollars worth of work to the Blue Water River Walk in Port Huron. Stone will be placed along the St. Clair River Shoreline at Wetlands County Park to help stop erosion due in part to high water levels.

Not on tonight’s agenda is a resolution in support of a citizen’s second amendment rights. That issue was taken up during a meeting of the county commissioners two weeks ago. Board members unanimously approved a resolution that did not include the term “sanctuary county” but did express their support for the second amendment. That prompting some gun rights activists to hold a pro-second amendment rally outside of the county building ahead of tonight’s meeting. Commissioners are scheduled to meet at 6pm tonight.
