Gas prices jump nearly 20 cents over the past week

The price of a gallon of regular gasoline jumped 17 cents over the past week, according to AAA of Michigan. The auto club says Michigan drivers are paying on average $2.74 a gallon for gas, which is 5-cents more than this time last month but still 15-cents less than this time last year. Across the state, the most expensive fuel can be found in  Ann Arbor at $2.80 on average and the least expensive gas is in Traverse City where pumps are asking about $2.63 per gallon. Locally, Port Huron area pumps are right in the middle, about $2.71 on average for a gallon of regular unleaded.
