Over $138,000 was raised last week during the St. Clair County Child Abuse and Neglect Council’s Community Roof Sit. Executive Director Sherry Archibald tells WPHM that’s the most raised in the event’s 25 year history. Last week, Q- Country 107 morning show host Matt Markham took to the roof of Michigan Mutual Mortgage in Downtown Port Huron to raise funds and awareness for the Child Abuse and Neglect council. Archibald says every cent of the $138,500 will stay in the local area to provide abuse prevention education and therapy to children free of charge. She says the local agency also provides forensic interviewing at their Port Huron location, so alleged abuse victims only have to share their story to authorities one time.
