The New England Patriots racked up 459 yards of offense on Thursday night and beat the Detroit Lions 31-3 at Ford Field in the preseason opener for both teams. The Lions managed just 174 yards of offense, playing without Matthew Stafford. Detroit travels to Houston to play again a week from Saturday.
